Artworks and space combined together to present a unique artistic experience to visitors

Starting in France, immersive media art is an exhibition presenting visitors with a unique artistic experience. As they enter the exhibition hall, visitors can be fully immersed in the works of great artists and music immediately surrounded by dozens of beam projectors and speakers. They will realize that they are entirely immersed in the works while walking around every corner of the exhibition hall. That is the essence of French immersive media art exhibition.

    Carrières des Lumières

The immersive media art® was first unveiled in 2012 in France. Since then, it has been used as an efficient tool for urban regeneration projects and contributed to revitalizing the local economy by transforming old schools and factories into artistic places in a short period of time with a low budget.
Carrières des Lumières was open in 2012 with the introduction of immersive media art® at the cave of an old quarry located in Les Baux-de-Provence. The population of the city has declined to 150,000 since the quarry was closed in 1935.
The exhibition has served as an opportunity to transform Les Baux-de-Provence into a tourist destination where approximately 600,000 people visit each year as of 2016.
